Nagasaki Peace-preneur Forum Powered by One Young World 2025

Despite the advancements in science and technology, the world continues to grapple with enduring conflicts. Global challenges like climate change and infectious diseases only compound these issues. In our rapidly evolving world, the future appears increasingly uncertain. To create peace amidst these circumstances and to embrace the hope of a better tomorrow, a forum for cultivating Peace-preneur will be convened in Nagasaki, the A-bombed city of Japan.

This forum in Nagasaki, in collaboration with OYW, aims to nurture peace-preneurs, a term coined by combining the words 'peace' and 'entrepreneur'. These individuals are dedicated to launching and promoting projects and activities that foster positive global change under the theme of peace. After the Forum, we will be committed to continuing our support by assisting them in commercializing their projects, facilitating partnerships with companies, and raising funds. It is people who create peace. Why don't you join us in the movement to nurture the next generation of peace builders from the land of Nagasaki?

We are hosting an international forum in Nagasaki,
bringing together young leaders from around the world.

Nagasaki, as a city that has experienced the devastation of war, deeply understands the wounds it inflicts. The city has long called for the abolition of nuclear weapons and the realization of a peaceful world. It is in this historically significant place that we will host a summit for young global leaders.

This forum is organized in collaboration with One Young World (OYW).
OYW has brought together brilliant young leaders from over 190 countries and 250 organizations, inspiring positive change across the world.
Through OYW, numerous innovative ideas and impactful initiatives have emerged.

The Nagasaki forum, in partnership with OYW, aims to cultivate Peace-preneurs.
"Peace-preneur" is a term combining Peace and Entrepreneur.
It refers to individuals who actively engage with social and global challenges, transcending differences in nationality, race, religion, and gender.
Join us in Nagasaki in fostering the next generation of leaders dedicated to building peace. Be part of this movement!

Theme for 2025: Division and Dialogue

The Peace-preneur Forum, now in its second year, will focus on the theme of "Division and Dialogue."
Today’s world is often described as an "era of division," with increasing political and social conflicts, as well as widening economic disparities.
Globalization and technological advancements have led to a concentration of wealth, further expanding income and living standard gaps.
As a result, economic inequality within societies has become more severe, creating deep divisions between social classes. These disparities, in turn, influence political opinions and values, intensifying conflicts.

The issue of division is not limited to societal problems.
In places like schools and companies, efforts to promote DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) often face stagnation, and overcoming hierarchical structures remains a challenge.
Division appears in various contexts, creating obstacles.
To overcome such divisions, dialogue with people from different backgrounds and values is essential.
However, creating opportunities for dialogue is not easy, and even if such spaces are established, making them institutionalized, regular, and sustainable presents significant challenges.

At this forum, under the theme of "Division and Dialogue," we will explore ways to design and facilitate dialogue that bridges societal and global divides.
Together, we will seek pathways for people with different perspectives and backgrounds to collaboratively shape the future.
